건축에 관한 창의적 사고와 연구를 바탕으로 학문적 성과를 통해 건축 산업 발전에 실질적으로 기여할 수 있는 고급 전문 인력을 양성한다.

학과 소개
건축학은 인간 생활을 영위하는 다양한 공간을 창조하는 학문으로서 공간 구성에 관련을 가진 다양한 기술 분야와 인간 생활에 관한 문화 예술적 분야를 결합하여 인간의 생활에 대한 행복을 위해 보다 쾌적한 건축문화 환경의 구축 할 수 있는 전문 인재를 양성하고자 한다.
The main purpose of ARCHitectural studies is to educate talented ARCHitectural and interior designers who have abilities of reorganizing ARCHitectural environment for human future. For accomplishing these purpose, educations for art, culture, technology related with creative ARCHitectural form are provided.

학과 내규
- 석사학위 학생은 24학점을 본 학과에서 인정하는 과목을 취득해야 한다.
- 선수과목은 학부에 개설된 전공필수 과목 중에서 선택하도록 하며 주임교수와 사전협의하여 승인을 받도록 한다.
- 종합시험과목은 일반전공 1과목과 주전공 1과목으로 한다. 이중 종합시험 과목 대상이 되는 일반전공 과목은 근대건축론, 건축인지론, 건축설계특론1, 건축디자인론1, 한국건축세미나로 한다.
- 타 전공 학생은 주임교수가 지정하는 선수 과목을 이수하여야 한다. 단, 이는 졸업에 필요한 학점에 포함되지 않는다.
- 과정 수료자는 학위 논문 제출 시까지 600단위에서 학위논문지도 과목을 이수하여야 한다.
- 학과 교수 회의에서 승인을 거쳐 대학원 학점 교환제에 참가할 수 있다.
- 본 내규에 규정되지 않은 사항은 학과 교수 회의에서 결정한다.
- 논문 계획 발표는 심사위원 앞에서 공개적으로 실시하고 심사 결과를 대학원에 보고한다.

- 건축설계 심화 과정으로 우리주변의 물리적 환경에 나타나는 문제점들을 진단하고 이에 대한 건축적 해결책을 제시하는 과정을 실습한다. 수강생은 담당교수의 지도하에 설계주제의 선정, 관련 자료들의 조사, 분석, 설계 기준의 작성 등 설계 전 단계에서부터 시작하여 주어진 문제에 대한 건축적 해결책의 제시, 새로운 건축 언어의 제시 등 설계 과정 전반을 학습한다.

- C++언어를 사용하여 2차원과 3차원 도형을 컴퓨터를 이용하여 그릴 수 있는 프로그램에 대한 방법과 알고리즘에 대하여 공부한다. 배우는 내용은 점과 선을 그리는 프로그램부터 3차원 애니메이션 알고리즘 등이다.

- Algorithms and programming technics for drawing 2 and 3 dimensional shapes on the computer using C++ programming language. Contents involve how to draw points, lines and 3 dimensional animations. Requirement : CAD, Computer Graphics.
- ARCH6611 건축디자인지식 표현론 (ARCHitectural Design Knowledge Representation) 3학점
- 컴퓨터의 데이터베이스에 지식을 저장하는 방법을 이해함과 동시에 우리의 두뇌에서 이루어지는 지식저장과 표현의 방법에 대하여 이론적으로 공부한다. 관계성 및 Object Oriented Base의 이론을 이용하여 건축 형태 디자인 지식의 표현에 대한 이해를 도모한다.

- Students will understand how to store knowledge on the computer data-base. At the same time they study how our brains store and represent knowledge theoretically. This course will be understood theory of knowledge representation in terms of relationship and object oriented data base. Requirement : Graphic Programming

- 시지각적으로 인지되는 형태의 속성과 관계성에 대하여 폭넓고 깊은 이해를 도모하고, 이를 바탕으로 형태지식을 인지하는 과정에 대하여 탐구한다. 또한 이를 저장 또는 표현하는 과정에 대하여 공부하여, 디자인에 적용할 수 있는 방법에 대하여 모색한다.
- Cognitive Psychology about how to perceive shape in terms of properties and relationships will be studied and then perception of shape knowledge will be understood. Also methods about how we apply this technics on ARCHitectural design will be sought. Requirement : CAD, Computer Graphics.

- 컴퓨터 이론의 발전으로 명백하게 밝혀진 디자인 과정 및 새로운 방법론에 대하여 이론적으로 공부하고, 설계에 응용한다.
